
Rebecca Turkewitz is a writer and high school English teacher living in Portland, Maine. Her first book, a collection of stories titled Here in the Night, will be published by Black Lawrence Press this July. She holds an MFA in fiction from The Ohio State University and is a former managing editor of The Journal. She has been a resident at Hewnoaks Artist Residency and won a 2020 Maine Literary Award in the short works category. Her short stories, essays, and humor writing have appeared in literary journals and online. She loves cats, the ocean, and ghost stories.
